Bangladesh’s women’s cricket team will face their toughest challenge yet in a three-match Women’s Championship ODI series against Australia, beginning October 9 at Allan Border Field. The squad, led by new head coach David Hemp, is determined to avoid any regrets by embracing their own style of play rather than trying to replicate Australia’s dominance.
Hemp, who took over in early October after replacing Sarwar Imran, emphasized a positive mindset, noting that while Australia remains the world’s top-ranked ODI and T20I team, Bangladesh must focus on their approach rather than dwelling on missed opportunities. With Hemp’s prior experience coaching the team during the 2023 World Cup qualifier and as batting coach in 2024, the transition has been smoother, and the players are already adapting to Australian conditions ahead of the series opener on October 9.
