The Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially addressed inquiries regarding the upcoming broadcasting duties of pace bowler Naveen-ul-Haq, confirming that his temporary stint behind the microphone for the upcoming Test fixture does not signal any alteration to his athletic career. Chief Executive Naseeb Khan explained that the fast bowler is currently undergoing a mandatory recovery period following an injury, making fitness rehabilitation his sole focus prior to returning to competitive selection.
Khan also noted that assigning broadcasting duties to athletes supports a broader institutional goal of building expertise across multiple facets of the sport. Naveen remains firmly part of the team's future roster once he receives medical clearance to play.
The upcoming red-ball match against Bangladesh is scheduled to take place from October ninth to the thirteenth. Naveen joins a broadcast team featuring Ramiz Raja, Andrew Leonard, Farveez Maharoof, Ahmad Farhad Fidai, and Mazhar Uddin.
Although the fast bowler has accumulated experience across numerous white-ball fixtures since his international debut, he has yet to make an appearance in the traditional Test format. His recovery remains the primary hurdle before he rejoins the active squad.
