Sergio García has officially terminated his contract with LIV Golf after a bankruptcy court ruling cleared the way for his exit, leaving his future in professional golf wide open. During a press conference ahead of the 2026 Open de España on the DP World Tour, García emphasized that ‘everything is an option,’ including a potential return to LIV or even a comeback to the PGA Tour.
His legal team had previously sought to end the LIV agreement to avoid complications with other tournaments and sponsorships, arguing that the unresolved contract could deter organizers from working with him. While García confirmed he is no longer bound to LIV, he did not rule out rejoining the league later, instead focusing on securing a spot in the 2027 Ryder Cup as his top priority.
The Spanish star also hinted at playing more on the DP World Tour, following fellow Spaniard David Puig’s announcement to pursue the same path.
