Cam Schlittler, Austin Riley open MLB playoffs in style; Pete Prisco's NFL Power Rankings are out

The Major League Baseball postseason commenced with stellar individual performances as pitcher Cam Schlittler delivered a stellar 117-pitch outing over 6 1/3 scoreless innings to push the Yankees to the brink of the ALDS against the Red Sox. Meanwhile, Austin Riley provided the decisive swing of the Wild Card round by launching a late, two-out, three-run homer in the eighth frame to propel the Braves over the Phillies.

In professional basketball, Caitlin Clark fueled a stellar WNBA playoff performance by posting a historic 25-point, 15-assist stat line alongside a crucial clutch three-pointer over A'ja Wilson, helping the Fever avoid elimination while the top-seeded Lynx suffered a shock sweep.
