Yankees run into buzzsaw, manage 1 hit in ALDS opener vs. Rays

Drew Rasmussen dominated the opening contest of the American League Division Series by carrying a no-hit bid into the eighth inning, allowing just a single hit to Austin Wells as the home side secured a 1-0 victory. Gerrit Cole provided five innings of solid work on the mound, surrendering only a solo home run to Jonathan Aranda, but the visiting lineup failed to provide run support after sweeping their previous postseason round.
