Georgia secured a dominant 41-13 victory over visiting Oklahoma at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, moving to a 4-0 record while dropping the Sooners to 2-2. The Bulldogs built an insurmountable 28-0 lead by halftime, capitalizing heavily on opponent errors and maintaining at least a three-score advantage throughout the final two periods.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart noted after the contest that his squad avoided self-inflicted mistakes while benefiting from multiple mistakes by the opposing side.
Individual standouts fueled the blowout win for the home team. Sophomore wide receiver Talyn Taylor led the receiving corps with four catches for 110 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown in the second quarter thrown by quarterback Gunner Stockton, alongside a notable one-handed grab downfield.
Defensively, linebacker Chris Cole delivered a massive performance with eight tackles, a sack, two fumble recoveries, and an 82-yard fumble return for a score. Meanwhile, Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer threw for 231 yards and two scores with an interception, but struggled with accuracy and gave up a costly red-zone fumble.
