What should the Lions do to fix their defense?

Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard faces mounting scrutiny following an alarming start across the opening two weeks of the schedule. On Thursday night, Detroit fell 41-31 against the Buffalo Bills, yielding upwards of 400 total offensive yards to Josh Allen and the opposing attack while also losing defensive back Avonte Maddox to an injury.

Despite Dan Campbell's squad putting up 31 points of their own, the defensive lapse pushed Detroit to the bottom of their division. The setback prompted widespread frustration among fans and critics, including calls for Sheppard's dismissal, even as national insider Ian Rapoport urged more patience regarding the unit's early-season struggles.
