What Happened to UCF's Offense in 27-17 Loss to Houston?

UCF suffered a bitter twenty-seven to seventeen defeat against Houston after coughing up twenty-seven unanswered points following an early seventeen to zero advantage. Backup quarterback Keyone Jenkins sparked the initial surge before exiting due to cramps in the third quarter, while third-string signal-caller Kaleb Annett struggled to spark the offense down the stretch.

Ground production stalled completely as lead ballcarrier Duke Watson gained fifty yards on nine rushing attempts, and center Jacob Maiava suffered a hip setback. On the bright side, receiver Josh Derry hauled in seven catches totaling one hundred one yards with a touchdown, and placekicker Will Stone maintained his flawless kicking campaign by converting his sole field goal alongside a pair of extra points.

Looking ahead, the squad prepares to visit Oklahoma State and quarterback Drew Mestemaker.
