Uttarakhand’s rise in domestic cricket has been marked by a standout season from all-rounder J. Suchith, whose contributions were pivotal to the team’s first-ever Ranji Trophy semifinal appearance last year.
The 32-year-old, who joined the side in 2018, finished as Uttarakhand’s second-highest run-scorer with 454 runs and second-highest wicket-taker with 26 scalps, playing a key role in the team’s lower-order batting and tactical flexibility. Suchith emphasized his dual responsibility of performing while nurturing local talent, noting that Uttarakhand’s recent knockout successes—including three semifinal runs in five seasons—have instilled confidence among players that they too can achieve national recognition, much like Jammu & Kashmir’s recent title win under Auqib Nabi’s leadership.
Reflecting on his own career, Suchith admitted he had not fully realized his potential in Karnataka and now aims to prove his ability to compete at the highest level before retirement, stressing the importance of preparation and leaving no regrets behind.
