Promoter Frank Warren said he wants to organise heavyweight title unification bouts in 2027 and is keen to bring former undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk back into the picture. He currently promotes three of the four major belts, including WBO holder Daniel Dubois, who will defend his title against Fabio Wardley at the O2 Arena on Saturday, and also manages WBC champion Agit Kabayel and IBF champion Filip Hrgovic.
Warren added that the winner of the Dubois‑Wardley clash will be well placed to chase the remaining belts, and he expects the WBA ‘super’ title to be contested when Tyson Fury meets Anthony Joshua in Cardiff later this year. He also noted that the WBA has offered that belt to the Fury‑Joshua winner, although the sanctioning body has not yet confirmed the move, and that Russian fighter Murat Gassiev remains the current WBA champion.
In addition, Warren confirmed that 21‑year‑old Moses Itauma will return to the ring in January after his first professional loss to Hrgovic, aiming for a world‑title shot in 2027.
