The UFC returned to Canada for *UFC Edmonton*, a Fight Night card headlined by a high-stakes welterweight clash at Rogers Place in Alberta. Canadian standout Mike Malott faced off against Joaquin Buckley in the main event, with Malott aiming to break into the UFC’s Top 15 rankings after a dominant stretch in the sport.
Buckley, meanwhile, sought to end a two-fight losing skid. The co-main event featured women’s bantamweight contender Erin Blanchfield, who looked to secure a title shot against Natalia Silva by defeating Jasmine Jasudavicius on foreign soil.
Blanchfield, riding a win streak, was disappointed to miss an earlier vacant title bout due to Wang Cong’s call-up, adding extra motivation for her performance.
The rest of the card included a mix of fighters looking to reverse losing trends or gain early UFC experience. Tanner Boser, a local Alberta prospect, took on Jhonata Diniz in the prelims, while former title challenger Kaitlyn Cerminara returned after a four-year absence to face Mackenzie Stiller.
Other matchups included Kyle Nelson vs. Cristian Perez, Marc-André Barriault vs.
Kyle Daukaus, and Louis Jourdain vs. Timmy Cuamba.
The event aired live on Paramount+, with the main card beginning at 8 p.m. ET after prelims at 5 p.m.
ET.
