Two Colorado Buffaloes Preparing to Face Their Former Team Against Utah

The Colorado Buffaloes are gearing up for a Week 7 showdown against the No. 12 Utah Utes, a matchup that carries extra weight for two players with ties to their former team.

Quarterback Isaac Wilson and cornerback Jason Stokes Jr. both played for Utah in 2025, now returning to face them in black and gold.

Stokes, who spent just one season with the Utes and saw limited action as a freshman, has since established himself as a starter for Colorado. He recorded his first career interception against Baylor earlier this season and is aiming to return at full strength after missing the Week 5 game against Texas Tech due to injury.

Though he acknowledged the rivalry’s significance, Stokes emphasized focusing on one game at a time, even as he prepares to face former teammates on the field. The rivalry, known as the Rumble in the Rockies, promises to be a high-stakes rematch for both players.
