Eleonora Camilla Gasparrini claimed her first victory of the season at the Tre Valli Varesine Women's Race, securing a dramatic win on the steep final climb in Varese. Gasparrini overtook a late breakaway attempt by Karlijn Swinkels and Nikola Nosková, who had built a 35-second lead in the final 30 kilometers.
The UAE Team L'IMAD rider outsped Sarah Van Dam and Noemi Rüegg in a tight sprint after the main chase group closed the gap on the last ascent, delivering a hard-fought triumph for her team. The 133.9-kilometer race saw Gasparrini capitalize on a well-timed surge, reversing her role from last month’s GP de Wallonie, where she had followed Swinkels to victory.
The podium was completed by Van Dam (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Rüegg (EF Education-Oatly), with Kate Courtney (FDJ United-SUEZ) rounding out the top five. Gasparrini’s win came after a season of steady performances, with teammate Silvia Persico playing a key role in guiding her to the front on the decisive climb.
