Today in Blue Jays History: The Donaldson Dash

On October 9, 2016, the Toronto Blue Jays completed an American League Division Series sweep of the Texas Rangers with a dramatic 7-6 victory in ten innings. Josh Donaldson secured the win by sprinting home from second base following a defensive miscue by Rougned Odor on a ground ball hit by Russell Martin.

The game featured multiple lead changes, including home runs from Edwin Encarnacion, Martin, Elvis Andrus, and Odor, before the contest was decided by the final error at the plate. Aaron Sanchez started for Toronto, while Matt Bush took the loss for Texas after allowing the decisive base runner.
