Tiger Woods backed to compete at ‘important’ event he’s never won as he looks to make more history

Golf legend Tiger Woods is being tipped to participate in the 2028 US Senior Open at Crooked Stick. USGA official John Bodenhamer suggests the tournament holds significant historical weight for the 50-year-old, who could become the first player to win the US Junior Amateur, US Amateur, US Open, and US Senior Open.

While physical limitations have sidelined Woods from official PGA Tour competition since 2024, the senior circuit offers a more manageable format that includes the use of golf carts. Achieving a tenth USGA national title would allow him to match the record currently held by Bob Jones.
