Tage Thompson has hat trick, 5 points in Sabres' 7-6 win over Ducks

Tage Thompson put on an offensive showcase by delivering three goals and two helpers, leading the Buffalo Sabres through a wild 7-6 comeback triumph over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night. Zach Benson chipped in a goal and a pair of assists while his squad reeled off six unanswered scores to erase an early deficit and hold off a late push from the hosts.

Roger McQueen picked up his first career NHL point with a goal for Anaheim, and Cutter Gauthier netted twice during the contest, though the Ducks ultimately suffered their seventh defeat in eight outings despite late tallies from Tristan Luneau and Beckett Sennecke.
