Uttarakhand’s Ranji Trophy campaign has gained momentum under the leadership of all-rounder J. Suchith, who played a pivotal role in the team’s maiden semifinal appearance last season.
The 32-year-old, who previously represented Karnataka, finished as the state’s second-highest run-scorer with 454 runs and second-highest wicket-taker with 26 dismissals, reinforcing his importance in the lower order. Suchith emphasized the team’s tactical approach, particularly in the tail, where consistency has been key to their progress.
Since joining the domestic circuit in 2018, Uttarakhand has reached the knockout stages three times in five seasons, a trend Suchith attributes to the team’s growing confidence and recognition at higher levels. Inspired by Jammu & Kashmir’s Ranji Trophy triumph, he believes Uttarakhand’s players now have a clearer path to national recognition, whether through Test matches or lucrative IPL contracts.
Suchith, who feels he underutilized his talent in Karnataka, remains focused on proving his sustained value in Uttarakhand, aiming to leave no regrets upon retirement.
