Stephen Vogt’s New Fireman and the Odyssey of Daniel Espino

Daniel Espino has returned to the mound following a grueling multi-year recovery process that involved two separate surgeries on his pitching shoulder and labrum. After last appearing in a Double-A contest for Akron in April of 2022, the right-hander endured a lengthy rehabilitation before finally making his comeback appearance in September of 2025.

Entering spring training fully healthy, Espino recently touched 98 mph with his fastball and struck out three batters against the Padres.
