Pittsburgh has sidelined rookie lineman Jennings Dunker by sending him to the injured reserve list following a practice knee injury. The Iowa product, selected in the third round, sustained an MCL sprain that will sideline him for roughly a month to a month and a half.
To compensate for this roster vacancy, management promoted running back Travis Homer directly from the practice squad. Furthermore, the club elevated both running back Lew Nichols and defensive back Doneiko Slaughter to bolster depth.
These backfield adjustments come as the team prepares to face Cincinnati without Rico Dowdle due to a toe issue, while Jaylen Warren remains questionable because of a shoulder concern.
