Steelers place Gennings Dunker on injured reserve

Rookie offensive guard Gennings Dunker has been placed on injured reserve by the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an MCL sprain, and he is projected to be sidelined for four to six weeks according to insider Tom Pelissero. To fill the vacant spot on the active roster, the franchise signed running back Travis Homer.

Additional roster adjustments for the upcoming contest against the Cincinnati Bengals include temporary practice squad elevations for running back Lew Nichols and defensive back Doneiko Slaughter. These moves were prompted by injuries affecting Rico Dowdle, Jaylen Warren, and Joey Porter Jr.
