Sophie Munro has solidified her future with Essex Women by agreeing to a two-year extension that runs until the conclusion of the 2028 campaign. Since transferring from The Blaze in 2025, the 25-year-old has featured in 28 total matches for the county, providing a reliable bowling presence across both List A and T20 formats.
Her recent resume also includes a stint with the Trent Rockets, where she contributed to their title-winning run in The Hundred after joining as injury cover.
Head coach Stephen Parry expressed his satisfaction with the deal, highlighting the bowler's ability to secure vital wickets despite recent injury setbacks. The club intends to utilize the upcoming winter period to focus on her physical development, aiming for a strong start to the 2027 season.
This contract extension underscores the organization's commitment to building a consistent squad capable of challenging for major honors in the coming years.
