India secured a 19-run victory over Pakistan in the Asian Games 2026 final in Japan, defending their gold medal behind a 61-run knock from Abhishek Sharma and a 51-run contribution from Tilak Varma that set a 211-run target, which Pakistan failed to chase despite a 96-run effort from Hasan Nawaz. Meanwhile, ODI captain Shubman Gill earned the Player of the Series honor against the West Indies after tallying 334 runs, and he offered public congratulations to his national teammates following their championship triumph abroad.
