The West Indies have made strategic changes ahead of their two-Test series against Bangladesh, their final assignment in the 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle. Opening batter John Campbell returns to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury, while fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been dropped following medical assessments.
All-rounder Keemo Paul replaces Joseph, and Barbados batter Kevin Wickham, who scored three centuries in three innings during the West Indies Championship, earns his maiden Test call-up. Though the Caribbean side has already missed out on a spot in the WTC final, they aim to conclude their campaign positively while giving emerging talents like Wickham a chance to shine at the highest level.
Meanwhile, the WTC final race has tightened following Australia’s dominant 214-run victory over South Africa in Durban. Australia now leads the standings with nine wins from 11 matches, while New Zealand holds second place.
Bangladesh, currently fourth, will look to improve their position during the home series, with the West Indies needing consistency from their batters to challenge the hosts. The first Test begins in Mirpur on October 28, with the second match set for Sylhet from November 5.
