Saints had a scoop-and-score TD against Lions. Replay review overturned it

During the Week 1 clash between New Orleans and Detroit to kick off the 2026 campaign, a major officiating reversal erased a defensive touchdown for the Saints. New Orleans appeared to secure six points after contacting Detroit quarterback Jared Goff, gathering the loose football, and carrying it across the goal line.

However, a video review overturned the play on the field. Referees ruled that Goff intended to deliver a forward throw, transforming the apparent fumble into an incomplete pass and wiping out the defensive score.
