Indian all-rounder Sai Sudharsan suffered a knee injury while fielding during Tamil Nadu’s second day in the Ranji Trophy against Rajasthan, raising concerns ahead of the upcoming New Zealand tour. The 26-year-old, who had returned to competitive cricket after a prolonged injury layoff, was attempting to stop a cover drive by Rajasthan’s Karan Lamba when he collapsed to the ground in apparent discomfort.
Team medical staff rushed to his side, and he later applied an ice pack to his knee, though reports suggest the injury is not serious. Sudharsan, who has been working to regain fitness for Test cricket, had been focusing on the ongoing 2026-27 Ranji Trophy to prove his readiness for international selection.
His swift return to action will now be closely monitored as he recovers.
