Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane to get Wankhede lounges as MCA unveils massive ₹500 crore grassroots push

During its recent annual general meeting, the Mumbai Cricket Association significantly expanded its grassroots support scheme, increasing the financial assistance fund for partner clubs to ₹500 crore over the upcoming decade. Following an initial ₹100 crore proposal authorized in April, the updated plan allocates an annual ₹40 crore contribution to bolster club facilities, talent growth, gear purchases, and operational demands.

Alongside these funding initiatives, the administration resolved to honor cricket icons Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya , and former India player and past MCA leader Madhav Mantri by dedicating lounges to them at Wankhede Stadium. A designated trio consisting of Jitendra Awhad, Milind Narvekar, and Ujwal Nikam, joined by association secretaries, will oversee this lounge allocation process.
