Ruoning Yin secured her seventh LPGA Tour victory with a dominant final-round performance at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, closing with a 68 to finish at 11 under 277—one stroke ahead of Hye-Jin Choi. The Chinese golfer’s clutch play was decisive, with two birdies on the 16th and 17th holes, the latter a par-3 ranked fifth-toughest on the course, capping a back-nine 32 that left Choi one stroke back after she birdied the final hole.
Yin’s weekend surge followed a slow start, as she entered Sunday at two under after a 74 on Friday, while Choi led after three rounds. Yin’s precision was unmatched, hitting 14 fairways, 13 greens in regulation, and making just 26 putts across 72 holes.
This victory marked her second Shanghai title, though the event has since moved from Qizhong Garden Golf Club, where her 2024 win set a 72-hole scoring record of 263. At Sheshan Golf Club, Yin’s 11-under total contrasted sharply with the course’s average of 73.681, proving her ability to dominate even the most challenging layouts.
