Roman Anthony out for Wild Card Series (and beyond) with wrist injury

Boston Red Sox manager Chad Tracy announced that Roman Anthony will miss the Wild Card Series and subsequent rounds due to new wrist muscle damage revealed by recent medical imaging. Anthony aggravated the wrist issue during the team's regular-season finale after having previously missed four months this year with a torn ligament in his ring finger.

Tracy confirmed that paperwork has been submitted to add a roster replacement, while noting that Anthony is returning to New York to rejoin his teammates despite his frustration over missing another postseason run.
