Indian captain Rohit Sharma achieved a new milestone during the second ODI against New Zealand in Wellington on November 7. By hitting two maximums in his 23-run innings, he reached a career total of 51 sixes against the Black Caps, surpassing the previous record of 50 held by Shahid Afridi.
This feat was accomplished across 34 innings in 36 matches, further cementing his status as the leading six-hitter in ODI history with 383 total career maximums. The match saw Sharma dismissed by Kyle Jamieson while India aimed to extend their 2-0 series lead.
The list of top six-hitters against New Zealand also includes Chris Gayle with 45 and Sanath Jayasuriya with 41.
