Riders stage protest at Il Lombardia over recent safety incidents

Competitors at the Italian autumn classic staged a brief standstill at the opening whistle following recent hazards involving stray automobiles and motorcycle personnel on the roadway. Athletes stood stationary on the pavement for a short duration before Remco Evenepoel addressed the crowd with a microphone, while Tom Pidcock shared an online message condemning the dangers.

Prominent figures including Evenepoel, Pidcock, and Giulio Ciccone also conferred briefly with the official in charge at the departure area before proceedings resumed.
