Red Sox News & Links: Payton Tolle to start Game 1 of Wild Card Series vs. Yankees

Boston manager Chad Tracy has confirmed that Payton Tolle will take the ball for Game 1 of the Wild Card Series against the rival New York squad. Tolle arrives at this opening assignment following a remarkable breakout campaign that began far away from the Opening Day roster and eventually earned high praise from legendary pitcher Pedro Martinez.

Meanwhile, organization newcomer Braiden Ward has traveled with the group to New York, positioning himself as a potential late-inning threat on the basepaths should he crack the final postseason roster.
