Recap: Wake Forest Demolishes Cal 41-7

Wake Forest rolled to a 41-7 victory over California on Oct. 17, 2026, at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley.

The Demon Deacons opened with a 99‑yard, five‑play drive that ended with freshman tight end Dominick Barry’s 39‑yard touchdown reception from quarterback Gio Lopez, and Barry finished with four catches for 102 yards and three scores, the first three‑TD game by a Wake tight end since 2019.

The Deacs’ defense dominated, forcing a three‑and‑out and later breaking up a fourth‑down pass attempt by Cal’s Jackson Brousseau with a tackle by defensive back Deuce Blades II. The win marked Wake’s third straight conference blowout, extending a streak of 72 unanswered points over two games.
