Ranji Trophy 2026-27: Defending champion J&K begins title defence against Madhya Pradesh

The defending Ranji Trophy titleholder Jammu and Kashmir is set to launch its campaign against Madhya Pradesh this Sunday on familiar home turf. The team looks to bounce back from an Irani Cup defeat, boosted by the availability of fast bowler Auqib Nabi, while notable absentees include Umar Nazir and Umran Malik.

Meanwhile, the visiting Madhya Pradesh squad arrives fully fit under the leadership of Shubham Sharma, ready to exploit any lingering vulnerabilities in the opposing lineup.
