PREVIEW No. 21 SMU welcomes Boston College in Home ACC Opener

The No. 21 SMU Mustangs prepare for their inaugural home conference matchup by welcoming the Boston College Eagles to Gerald J.

Ford Stadium. SMU holds a three to one historical advantage over their visitors, having secured a forty-five to thirteen victory on the road last autumn.

Head coach Rhett Lashlee aims to guide his squad forward following a hard-fought win against Missouri State, though the team will proceed without junior defensive end Ira Singleton due to a season-ending injury.

Boston College enters this fixture following a narrow setback against Virginia Tech, a game where the team briefly held an advantage during the final period behind the leadership of head coach and offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. Junior quarterback Mason McKenzie anchors the visiting offense as both a passer and a primary rushing threat, supported by running back Evan Dickens.

Co-defensive coordinators Maurice Crum Jr. and Rickey Hunley Jr.

must now formulate a game plan to contain McKenzie's dual-threat capabilities under conference lights.
