Poor Defense, Leaky Pen Cost Astros in 6-5 Loss to Athletics

Flaws in the field and a struggling bullpen doomed Houston during a 6-5 defeat against the Athletics on Friday night. Christian Walker and Cam Smith both provided home runs for the visitors, but a disastrous sixth frame allowed the hosts to plate six runs and take control of the contest.

Late-game scoring from LaMonte Wade, Isaac Paredes, Jose Altuve, and Yainer Diaz narrowed the deficit, though the comeback ultimately fell short. Hunter Brown was tagged with a pair of runs over his outing before departing.
