Penn State is College Football’s biggest disappointment & it’s Notre Dame’s fault

Penn State's football program suffered a devastating unraveling following a crucial postseason loss to Notre Dame in January 2025, where a promising halftime advantage slipped away in the Orange Bowl. Despite entering the autumn campaign with high expectations and returning veterans, the squad spiraled through a six-game skid after opening with three victories, ultimately leading to the dismissal of James Franklin.

The university subsequently endured a lengthy search for leadership before eventually naming Matt Campbell as their new head coach nearly two months later.
