Penn State football news: Fans won’t love Matt Campbell’s ‘left it to chance’ comments

Matt Campbell suffered his first defeat as the head coach of Penn State, dropping a 24-20 decision to Wisconsin during his inaugural Big Ten conference matchup. The Nittany Lions initially built a comfortable 17-0 lead before letting the advantage slip away in the second half.

Following the contest, Campbell admitted his squad left the outcome to chance and failed to capitalize on multiple opportunities to seal the victory. Prior to this setback, the team had won three straight non-conference games against Marshall, Temple, and Buffalo.
