Patidar’s lone hand not enough as Australia-A clinches series

Australia-A extended their dominance in the one-day series with a commanding 69-run victory over India-A at the Cricket Association Pondicherry Siechem Ground on Friday. The hosts, chasing a target of 276, were left reeling after Rajat Patidar’s solitary stand proved insufficient, with India-A bowled out for 206 in just 45.2 overs.

Australia-A’s middle-order duo, Sam Konstas and Josh Philippe, anchored their innings with a 101-run partnership, while Patidar’s 67-ball 67 kept India-A in the game until his dismissal to left-arm pacer Spencer Johnson sealed their fate. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s early exit and the absence of pace in the attack further compounded India-A’s struggles, handing Australia-A a 2-0 series lead after the second match.
