Panthers rule Jaelan Phillips out for Thursday night

Defensive depth will be severely tested for the Panthers as they head to Green Bay for a Thursday matchup, having officially sidelined linebacker Jaelan Phillips due to his ongoing hamstring issue alongside cornerback Akayleb Evans. With Evans also unavailable because of triceps and knee ailments, the active roster retains just two healthy cornerbacks in Will Lee and Chau Smith-Wade, prompting expected promotions from the practice squad before kickoff.

Additional roster limitations impact the offensive front, where left guard Damien Lewis is inactive due to a knee problem and reserve lineman Torricelli Simpkins is out with an ankle injury. Defensive tackle Bobby Brown represents the team's lone questionable designation stemming from a hand concern, while kicker Ryan Fitzgerald managed to clear all injury designations despite a late-week illness keeping him on the Wednesday report.
