Paige Bueckers has the Wings back in the playoffs. Can they upset the Valkyries?

The postseason action tips off on September 27 with the second-seeded Golden State Valkyries hosting the seventh-seeded Dallas Wings for the opening round. Golden State secured this playoff berth following their debut campaign last year, boasting a top-tier defensive unit led by scoring leader Gabby Williams.

Meanwhile, the Wings return to the postseason for the first time since 2023 under the guidance of first-year coach Jose Fernandez, fueled by standout performers Paige Bueckers and Jessica Shepard. The Valkyries earned home-court advantage through the initial two rounds by finishing with a 17-5 home record and a dominant 3-0 regular-season sweep over Dallas.

However, the visitors arrive carrying strong momentum after claiming seven victories across their previous eight outings, despite managing injuries to key roster pieces like Azzi Fudd and Alanna Smith.
