Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will miss the remainder of the campaign after sustaining a neck injury during a Week 2 road victory against the New York Jets. Head coach Matt LaFleur announced that the pass-catcher requires corrective surgery and faces an extended recovery timeline following the incident on September 20.
During the opening quarter of the overtime contest, Reed collided with Jets linebacker Demario Davis and was immobilized on a backboard before being carted off the field at MetLife Stadium. Although the setback requires major medical intervention, LaFleur confirmed that physicians do not expect the condition to curtail the twenty-six-year-old athlete's career permanently.
Reed spent a night under observation in New Jersey before returning to Green Bay earlier in the week.
