Pac-12 football power rankings: What we learned from first week of conference games

The opening week of the newly formed Pac-12 conference schedule delivered both expected outcomes and surprising shifts across the power rankings. Boise State maintained the top spot following a 37-18 victory over Utah State, powered by strong play from quarterback Maddux Madsen and running back Dylan Riley.

Meanwhile, Oregon State extended its winning streak to three games behind Braden Atkinson's 427 passing yards and Jesse Legree's two touchdowns in a 56-26 win against Colorado State.

Fresno State climbed to third place after holding Washington State to just 30 rushing yards in a 26-6 road win. San Diego State jumped three spots to fourth by erasing a deficit against Texas State with a pivotal kickoff return touchdown by Jaylon Hawkins, holding on for a 31-29 victory.

Texas State fell to fifth in the standings after costly interceptions by Brad Jackson contributed to the collapse.
