Oregon Ducks wide receiver Evan Stewart was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), according to Springfield police. The arrest occurred shortly after midnight on October 18, with Stewart reportedly released from custody just over an hour later.
The incident comes amid a pivotal stretch for Oregon football, which secured a hard-fought 17-14 victory over Nebraska the previous evening in Eugene. The Ducks improved to 4-2 on the season with the win, though starting quarterback Dante Moore sat out the game while recovering from a concussion suffered earlier in the campaign.
Backup quarterback Dylan Raiola entered the game in the fourth quarter and led a late drive to secure the victory, further complicating Oregon’s quarterback situation as Moore remains out indefinitely. The Ducks now turn their focus to a road trip, opening as double-digit favorites against Illinois in their next contest.
