The governing body for international cricket has unveiled the full itinerary for the upcoming 2027 Men's ODI World Cup, featuring a preliminary round hosted across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Competition kicks off in early October, beginning with a three-team qualification playoff in Windhoek to decide the final participant in the group stage.
Group play starts in Cape Town with a marquee fixture pitting reigning title-holders Australia against India, setting up a rematch of the previous tournament's final. Additional group matches are scheduled across multiple regional grounds, including fixtures for host nations and rival matchups such as India facing Pakistan in Johannesburg.
Following the round-robin matches, the tournament advances to a Super 7 phase running through late October and mid-November to determine the advancing contenders. Several prominent national squads have been pre-assigned specific group positions to streamline scheduling and travel logistics for supporters and teams alike.
The initial qualification pathway also incorporates direct entries for co-hosts alongside top-ranked contenders from official rankings, while remaining berths are determined through a dedicated qualifying tournament. The extensive itinerary aims to provide clear planning pathways as teams prepare for the multi-nation championship.
