Not just Big Q: Colts have another standout offensive guard playing some elite ball

Indianapolis finds itself at a two-win and three-loss record, but third-year offensive lineman Matt Goncalves has emerged as a major silver lining for the squad. The former Pittsburgh product, selected in the third round of the draft, has stepped into the right guard role and developed into one of the top young interior blockers across the league.

Pro Football Focus currently ranks him as the twelfth-best guard through five starts with a strong overall grade.

Goncalves has successfully replaced Will Fries, who departed for Minnesota in free agency, easing fan concerns about the position. Across nearly two hundred pass-blocking snaps, the heavyweight blocker has surrendered only one sack and a minimal number of quarterback pressures.
