No. 7 Texas vs. Florida opponent preview: Gators look to end two-game skid

The seventh-ranked Texas Longhorns are set to host the Florida Gators, who arrive in Austin trying to snap a two-match losing streak. Florida began conference play with strong victories, highlighted by an upset over then-fourth-ranked Ole Miss, but subsequently dropped decisions to Missouri by forty-five to seventeen and South Carolina by thirty-eight to nineteen.

In his first year leading the program, head coach Jon Sumrall acknowledged that his squad remains a work in progress following the setback against South Carolina. While the offense ranks near the top of the conference in scoring and yardage behind standout running back Jadan Baugh and wide receivers Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown, the defensive unit struggles significantly in preventing points and stopping the pass.
