The Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl aspirations have taken a sharp turn after a brutal stretch of injuries derailed their season. Through six games, they sit at the bottom of the NFC West with a 2-4 record, now facing a prolonged absence from star wide receiver Davante Adams, who tore his hamstring in a 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Adams, a critical red-zone threat, is expected to miss 6-10 weeks and could still be out for the Week 16 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams’ defensive line also took a major hit, with defensive tackles Kobie Turner (groin) and Poona Ford (ruptured triceps) placed on injured reserve.
Ford’s season is over, while Turner’s return is unlikely before Week 10, compounding concerns about their already shaky run defense. Special teams suffered another blow when kicker Blake Grupe tore his ACL in his team debut, leaving the Rams scrambling for their third kicker of the season after releasing Harrison Mevis.
With reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett still sidelined by a knee injury, the Rams now lack depth across the board, including at wide receiver, where Adams’ replacements have combined for just eight career touchdowns compared to his 18 over the past two seasons. The team’s next four games—a favorable stretch against the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, and Cardinals—will be critical, but their playoff hopes now hinge on navigating a minefield of injuries and unproven backups.
