Dallas Cowboys cornerback Joey Porter Jr. will miss Thursday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being sidelined by a severe illness.
The 26-year-old arrived at AT&T Stadium visibly unwell, struggling with symptoms that included vomiting from a viral infection, prompting the team to send him home before the game. This would have marked Porter’s second appearance for the Cowboys since joining the franchise via trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played 25 snaps in his debut against the Houston Texans last week.
With the Buccaneers visiting, Porter was expected to see increased playing time, but his absence leaves the Cowboys’ secondary in need of adjustments for the high-stakes matchup.
