Australia will be missing Sophie Molineux and Lucy Hamilton for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh due to injuries, with Tahlia McGrath stepping in as captain for the matches. Molineux is sidelined because of a hip problem picked up following her return from The Hundred, while Hamilton sustained a minor quad strain during a practice session.
The squad announcement on Tuesday covers both the Bangladesh ODIs scheduled in Brisbane from October 9 through October 14 and a subsequent T20I series against New Zealand. Officials expect Molineux to recover in time for the New Zealand matches, though vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner will assume leadership of the T20 squad if the primary captain remains unavailable.
