Milwaukee secured a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay in the first game of the 2026 World Series. The win was briefly delayed by a replay review that overturned a game-ending double play.
Second baseman Brice Turang started the play by fielding a grounder from Liam Hicks, throwing to Cooper Pratt at second, and then to Jake Bauers at first.
According to rules expert Andy Fletcher, the out at second was reversed because Pratt's foot had left the bag before the ball entered his glove. Despite the reversal, Trevor Megill ended the contest by striking out Jonny DeLuca to preserve the lead.
